Hello friends!I know I have been M.I.A. but to be honest I haven't been inspired to blog. But a recent trip for my 33rd birthday (May 11) gave me the inspiration I needed! So since getting back I have been getting a ton of questions about my experience Cuba and I figured this is the best way for me to answer these questions in one place. Before I went I feel like I read thousands of blogs to help me prepare. I made sure I asked every person I knew that went a million questions. Somethings I read were true and some not quite. We were fortunate enough to have an acquaintance that had family in Cuba so she gave us some tips on how to prepare. So lets hop into it. MONEY EXCHANGEMost the blogs I read there was no straight answer to the best method on getting the most of your money. To be honest there really isn't because the exchange rates change daily. The day bought Euros the exchange rate was $1.17. I exchanged $400 and had to pay $465 for 400 Euros. Then when we got to the airport we exchanged the Euros to the CUC. My best recommendation is to check on the rates frequently way before you go and when the Euro is low buy whatever your budget is going to be. Also keep in mind that our American credit cards don't work there so whatever money you have that is it. So make sure you have enough for your whole trip. 1 CUC is the equivalent to $1. The good news is that it was so cheap there and I came home with $100 left over.TRANSPORTATION This is where you are going to spend most of your money. Since there were 7 of us we split everything so it wasn't that bad. The ride from the airport to our AirBnb in Miramar was 60 CUC and it was a 30 min ride. Our ride from our AirBnb into Havana Vieja was 15 CUC. Most of the time your host can also call taxis to take you where you want to go. I highly recommend staying in Miramar because there were several restaurants with amazing food within walking distance but you're only 10 minutes away from Havana Vieja. COMMUNICATION English was pretty limited. There were three of us in the group that spoke and understood the best so we got by. If you don't know or understand a lot of Spanish I suggest screenshotting general phrases in Spanish or using a translation app that works offline. For instance two of the girls had dietary restrictions. One is allergic to shellfish and the other is a pescatarian. Also wifi is not so easy to come by and you have to pay for it. Our first day there we discovered wifi in Havana Vieja. It was 2 CUC for 1 hour. It's true what the blogs say that you can spot the wifi because many people will be sitting down trying to get connected. Another one of the girls paid 3 CUC for a wifi card but it could only be used inside of the hotel. Also please be advised that the wifi is also very slow because everyone was on it so it was definitely a struggle. ACCOMMODATIONS/ FOODMy friends and I stayed in an AirBnb. The area we stayed in was in Miramar which was like 10 minutes from Havana Vieja. I highly recommend to go the AirBnb route because its the best way to get recommendations on where to eat or what to do. Something I thought was interesting is that our host actually stayed with us. It was her her cousin Juliet and Juliet's daughter but they were in a different room. Our host Anna Iris was amazing. She guided us on food recommendations that were in walking distance to her home. The food was awesome. The first day she recommended we eat at a place called Olivio and it was $10 for the buffet and mojitos were $2! The best part was that it was in walking distance, about 3 blocks. That night we ate at Tapas y Toro which was also in walking distance. This is when we discovered Lemonade Frappe's. The food was also delicious here. But be aware if you don't finish all your food and need a to go box they will charge you 1 CUC for the box. We learned that the hard way.The next day she recommended an italian place called Nero di Seppia. Contrary to what I've read the food was very flavorful which I was very happy about because I love food! My friends were ready and packed seasoning just in case but they were not needed.I'm pretty sure we ate some of the best snapper we ever had in Varadero!! I don't remember the exact place but it was on Dos Mares Calle 53 ask for Frank! Just to give price reference there was 7 of us and it was $12 per person. Also the drinks in the whole pineapple for $5.Also I recommend eating breakfast cooked by your hosts. Juliet was the cook and made us yummy breakfast for two days and it was only $5 per day!The only time I experienced "bland" food was when I ate a Cuban sandwich in Havana Vieja. The cheese wasn't melted and it was dry.We stumbled upon a cart making fresh churros. It was 1 CUC and was made to order and took like 20 minutes and they were yummy. The first day I didn't have any because I'm not big on sweets but my friends came raving about it so the next day we made sure we swung by to indulge.RESTROOMSI read that there was no toilet paper or toilet seats. Our airBnb did have toilet seats and toilet paper. However when you are out in the city on whether or not there is toilet paper is a gamble. While in Varadero we paid 1 CUC just to use the bathroom and there was no toilet seat(not like I'd actually sit on it anyway) or toilet paper. Because I anticipated this I always had a roll of toilet paper and sanitizer, wet ones and anything I needed on me in my backpack. Also keep in mind when you use the bathroom you can not put the tissue in the toilet. They have garbage cans where you are to throw the tissue in there. That was definitely an adjustment but you will get the hang of it.ACTIVITIESSo I wanted to take Salsa lessons. We went to La Casa del Son and it was freaking awesome! But be prepared to sweat so make sure you wear something comfortable as well as wear comfortable shoes. Because we had 7 people it was 10 CUC per person and I highly recommend it!After Salsa lessons we walked the streets of Havana Vieja and did some souvenir shopping. That area is the "touristy" area. The next day we took a vintage car tour to Varadero because we wanted to go to the beach. Make sure you reserve this in advance however you cannot pay in advance you have to pay when you get there. Varadero was a 2 hour drive. It was 300 CUC per car and you have the car for 10 hours. They do have different tour options but this is the one we chose. Before reaching the beach we stopped at Mirador de Bacunyagua. It was a beautiful bridge and there was music and food and also a place to buy souveniers. I bought a leather crossbody purse. With scenery so beautiful we had another photoshoot, duh!The beach was the most beautiful beach I have ever experienced. The water was crystal clear and it was actually very shallow. You could go pretty far out and still stand. This beach was worth every penny we spent to get there. Cue a bajillion selfies and full on photoshoot.Saturday we went back to Havana Vieja to do our final souvenir shopping before heading to the beach again. We asked our host what beach was near and also good. She recommended Santa Maria beach. This beach was definitely different from the Varadero beach. There was mainly beer bottles and beer cans everywhere. This was the party beach as the locals were dancing and having a great time. The water definitely did not compare to Varadaro but we still had a great time with each other. I will say we witnessed some unique activities at this beach that made it quite interesting but we made the best of it.Saturday night we went to 1830 which was a club that was actually in walking distance from where we were staying. This place is awesome!! I was excited to use my new moves I learned in Salsa class from Thursday. Let me tell you that you will dance and you will sweat your edges, weave and wig out. It's pretty much Zumba on crack but so much fun! I found it interesting that you dance as a group the whole night. You know kinda like when someone does the electric slide at wedding except its salsa moves and its not for one song its the whole night. YOU. NEED. TO. EXPERIENCE. THIS.Also we felt very safe there. The police officers don't even have guns and crime is very low. Not to get too political but it kind of made me wonder why guns in America are so out of control. It seems like we just can't get it right over here.WATERWe were told after you pass security to head to Cuba to buy bottle water. Each of us bought 3 to 4 large bottles of smart water that came in handy for our trip. Also make sure that anything you are drinking that you ask that it is made with bottled water. No one wants to have stomach problems.OTHER TIPSBring an outlet converter especially for your curling irons or to charge your phone. Also when you are heading back to the states don't change all your money back to dollars if you plan on shopping in the duty free. We exchanged all our money back to dollars and the prices in there were so cheap but then when we got up to pay they were like those prices are in CUC and since you're paying in dollar we have to charge more. So I would say keep like 20-30CUC if you are trying to bring back bottles of rum, coffee or cookies. Also you get the visa as soon as you check in at the airport its $50 and we flew JetBlue. Overall it was an awesome time. I loved all the architecture, food, music and the spirit of the people. I loved that it was filled with art. Artists were everywhere. If you are a creative this is definitely the place to go to inspire you and get those creative juices flowing. I am so glad I got to experience Cuba before our American influence taints it. I definitely want to go back because I feel like there was still so much to experience. Comment below if you've been to Cuba and what was your experience like. VIVA LA CUBA!Special thanks to Amy, Joey, France and Amber for answering all my questions and guidance to prepare for Cuba! And special thanks to my girls Ebonie, Georgia, Tiffany, Karlene, Erin, and Jasmin for taking this trip with me!
Jolie Bloom Review
I am always on a hunt for awesome skincare products. I mean who doesn't want flawless skin? After all my skin is my money maker in my industry. As a makeup artist we always preach that a great makeup application starts with the care of your skin. So let me introduce you to Jolie Bloom. All of their products are handmade with natural ingredients. I'm such a sucker for natural skin care products. There is something comforting in using products that have ingredients you can pronounce. They recently had their 2 year anniversary sale and this was the perfect time for me to give them a shot. Not to mention I had the opportunity to do the owner Jheanells' makeup for her rebranding website. If you follow her snapchat she always posts behind the scenes videos of her whipping up the products right here in Orlando to fulfill orders. Also you will see her husband placing labels and packing orders to ship with the assistance of their 3 year old son! I love knowing that when I make a purchase that I am directly supporting a family who makes each product with love! Now on to the products! The 2 products I picked up was the Wake up Scrub for exfoliation and their Summer Time Shine essential oil body lotion. I was a little bit concerned that the coffee smell would be too overbearing for me but it wasn't at all. After you use this product your skin feels amazingly smooth! You don't even need a moisturizer! Also, typically I don't like to use oils on my skin but if you do your research oils are very beneficial to your skin. The Summer Time Shine is a good balance of lotion and oil. I particularly use this as a moisturizer for my face and you really don't need a lot because a little bit goes a long way. Literally my skin drinks this stuff up. Also sometimes when I pour a too much out I just rub the rest all over my body. Also something special to know ahout this company is that Jheanell started this company 2 years ago in memory of her daughter. I think it is amazing that she was able to turn something very deastating into something positive. She has an amazing story and I'm sure there are many women that can relate. These products are amazing and if you are interested definitely check out the website for more at www.joliebloom.com and instagram @JolieBloom ***Products were purchased with my own money and opinions are all my own

Naked Bar Soap Co BYOB Session
Lately my skin is having some issues and I feel like I haven't found the right skincare to remedy my situation. When I got invited to attend a BYOB (Blend Your Own Bar) for Naked Bar Soap Co I immediately was thinking how awesome it would be for me to create my own face soap to cater to my own skin needs. Naked Bar Soap Co is located in College Park and hasn't been open that long. When you walk in the beautiful aromas of the different soaps immediately greet you when you walk in. I love the earthy and minimalism decor of the store. All of the soaps start with a base that they pre make before you get to personalize your own. They go over some additional ingredients that you can add in depending on the effect you would like your skin to have. In my custom blend I added marigold and ground oatmeal. I chose marigold because they said it is good for mature skin and babies and I chose ground oatmeal because its good for sensitive skin. The essential oil I added in my soap was lemongrass because I love the refreshing smell. With this particular process they teach in the blending class it actually takes 6 weeks for the soap to cure before you can use it. They said it will teach you a lesson in patience. What they didn't know is I'm the most impatient person you will ever meet! Anyway it was fun blending the soap but since I had to wait 6 weeks to use it, I wanted to see if they had any soaps already made that would help me out in the meantime. Some of the awesome soaps! Aren't they pretty? They each have a description of the ingredients so you know exactly what you're getting My skin is dehydrated because I don't drink nearly as much water as I should. So I'm very dry in some areas and oily in others. I decided to go with the triple butter soap.As you can see it has very moisturizing ingredients and I have to say my skin LOVES it. It has help me achieve smoother makeup application as well. I found that my foundation kept settling in my fine lines due to the dryness my previous face wash was causing and even though I would follow up with a moisturizer it still wouldn't help. The best part about this soap is that I can pronounce all of the ingredients so I know that it's something great for my skin.So its been 6 weeks and I couldn't wait to see what's been cooking this whole time. It smells amazing and I was surprised at how soft it was. It was so soft I had no issues cutting it. It feels super moisturizing and I can't wait to use it!The best part about this company is that it is owned and run by 3 beautiful ladies and I'm all about girl power! Make sure you check them out on facebook, instagram and twitter and sign up for a BYOB session! * This was a press sample and all opinions are my own
New App in Orlando: Massage Clicks
I always have so much to do but seem to never have enough time. So anything that provides convenience in my life is a win. I was recently informed of a new app called Massage Clicks which I like to call it the Uber of massages. This app recently launched in Orlando and I think the concept is genius. Basically download this app and you can make an appointment to have a licensed massage therapist come to your home office or hotel. I got the opportunity to test out the app and also meet the founder Ian Vakil who formerly owned a wellness center. I got the opportunity to ask him a couple questions so here is the scoop:
- Atlanta is next on his radar to launch the app
- The app currently does not service Oveido and Sanford but will around the next 2 weeks
- Right now there is introductory pricing starting at $39 for a 1 hour massage until Oct. 15
- If you would like to request a specific massage therapist you can request them in the parking notes but it really depends on availability if you will be able to book them
- Pricing is based on the duration of the massage not based on the type of service which works out cheaper for users then going to a physical location
- The service times are 9am-10pm 7 days a week
- Pricing is from $79-$140
Also early next year yoga and facials will be offered on the app. I got to experience a swedish massage from Maribal which was amazing. I felt like a brand new woman! The app is super easy to use and I love that this service comes to you. For more information on the app check them out at www.massageclicks.com! *Complimentary massage service was provided for my review. These are my honest opinions
Nzuri Hair Products Review
As a natural haired girl one of the biggest struggles is maintaining moisture and maintaining hair growth. I am always searching for products that will keep my hair moisturized but not weigh my hair down. I am not of the the natural hair girls that care a lot about using hair products that are all natural. For me I care more about results and if a product gives me great results and is made with natural ingredients its a double bonus!I was recently introduced to Nzuri products. Just a little back story on the company, the CEO Leola Anifowoshe is a certified Trichologist and certified Herbal Therapist. She started her company after being diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, a serious auto immune diseease. After her diagnosis she started researching alternative medicine and natural supplements since certain drugs were causing her hair to fall out. During the course of this time she developed "Nzuri Elixir" which helped her restore her hair growth and the rest is history.Nzuri has tons of products that promote not only healthy hair but a healthy body as well. I thought this was unique because typically you will see companies that market hair products don't usually have supplements to promote a healthy body from the inside. For my review I chose the Hair Grow Max Moisturizing conditioner and the Revive and Restore 3 Hemp shampoo.Unfortunately the conditioner didn't work out for me. Since I have so much hair I also typically use a TON of conditioner to not only moisturize but to also help me with detangling. The size of this bottle would not last long with me and would not be cost efficient for me. I didn't feel like I was getting the moisture or the "slip" my hair needs to help me detangle my wildly curly hair. As far as the hair grow claims I can not speak on that because I am sure its something that I would need to use over time to see results. So whenever use this product I also add in the current conditioner I'm using because I do like the ingredients of the Nzuri conditioner. The shampoo was EVERYTHING. It has been difficult for me to find a shampoo that I actually like because most shampoos leave your hair feeling stripped. The size of the bottle is fine for me because I don't use a lot of product when I'm shampooing. I also felt like it helped me with getting my curls loose and ready for the conditioner which is when I detangle my hair. There are so many different products on the site that will match your hair and body needs. If you are really into natural products definitely check out www.hairvitaminstore.com ! *Nzuri products were provided for my review and these are my honest opinions
Blo Blow Dry Bar
On Thursday I got the opportunity to check out this new cutesy blow dry bar. These blow dry bars seem to be the hottest trend lately. If you are looking for just a wash and style this is a great place for a quick glam session. They offer manicures. My stylists name was Paula and I wasn't sure if she would be able to tame the beast on top of my head. But she proved me wrong! I thought my hair was great! Unfortunately it didn't last because when you have curly hair it doesn't like to be tamed! Story of my life...The brand of the products they use is called Unite. Something cool she told me is that all of the products are sulfate free except the clarifying shampoo. Let me just say that these products smell AMAZING! They also told me they have an app where you can make your appointments! Which I thought was so convenient! However I was informed that you are unable to reserve a specific stylist but they do try their best to accommodate your request. They also assured me that all the stylist go through the same styling training with the company. For additional information on the services and pricing they offer check them out here. * Complimentary services were provided for my review, these are my honest opinions.
Orlando Women's Success Seminar
On April 25 the very first Women's Success Seminar kicked off! Any event that is about promoting the empowerment of women I am all for. The featured speakers were Tia Maldanado, Melanie Pace, Angela Brown, Monica May, Jenn Lee and Dr Romue Mushtaq. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear the later 2 speak because I had to leave early. I have to be honest, the only speaker I was familiar with was Monica May since I actually have done her makeup once before a couple years ago.Check out the synopsis of what each speaker spoke about : The most interesting thing about the event is that it was put on by Pablo Villatorro! I thought it was so cool that a man put on an event to empower women! He spoke some beautiful words to his mother who was there to support the event. I know she must be so proud! This event was definitely empowering and I walked away with lasting advice that I will keep with me forever.
My First Rocksbox
I love a good subscription box because it pays itself and when you receive your package its like having a monthly birthday present, yay! So in comes Rocksbox! For $19/month you can rent 3 pieces of designer jewelry with an average worth of $200. Now for me I'll admit I am a creature of habit and will pretty much only wear gold jewelry because I don't necessarily know how to pick out cute jewelry for myself and besides, gold goes with everything! Rockbox is a great way for me to step outside my comfort zone and incorporate pieces I probably wouldn't have picked out for myself. I really love the low commitment of it as well. You basically take the survey, they will pick out some gems for you and you can wear them as much as you want. Return your pieces to get 3 more pieces to rock or you can buy them at a discounted rate! So guess what?? Check out Rocksbox.com and enter the code toninicolexoxo to get 1 month free! If you are giving it a shot comment below and tell me how you like it! Disclaimer: Complimentary membership was provided to me for my review. These are my honest opinions.
My Nail Journey
Anyone who knows me knows that I bite my nails. I have bitten them for as long as I remember. I do have anxiety and I find that I really really bite my nails during high stress times or situations where I feel very anxious. To be honest its something that has been quite embarrassing. I always hate when people are always telling me to stop biting my nails. Its a bad habit, I know! But lets be honest......do you really think I wans to be biting my nails???? Also as a makeup artist it is not very appealing to show up to a clients home with chewed up nails. This year one of my goals was to stop biting my nails. Don't get it twisted, I have tried sooooooo many times to stop biting my nails and have failed. But right now I'm proud to say so far its been about 1 1/2 month since I've bitten my nails! How I was able to stop was I got acrylics for 2 weeks and then I took them off. Then I went and got the gel nail polish and so far I've been able to stop biting them. Its definitely a daily struggle but I know I can keep it up. And now that this is on my blog its my way of holding myself accountable! So to my fellow former nail biters, what are some tips that helped you to resist the urge and stop biting your nails?
Marilyn Monroe Spa Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress {Grand Opening}
Recently around town I have been seeing these cute Marilyn Monroe Spas pop up. The name alone intrigued me and every time I would pass one, I tell myself I'm going to stop and check it out. Unfortunately I just haven't had the chance. So when I got invited to the grand opening for the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress location on Wednesday (thank you Bianca), I definitely didn't want to miss that opportunity. It was everything I knew it would be. The decor was all white with red accents, so chic! I experienced a massage which was amazing and much needed after a long day at work. I got my nails painted in the color "Wink and a Smile" which was a beautiful cool toned pink. P.S. how adorbs is the name of the polish? I asked Alyssa the price of the polishes and she told me with a nail service its $2.50 and $6.50 regular price. And of course the spa was decked out in beautiful photos of Marilyn Monroe! This place not only looks fabulous but it is your one stop shop for pampering! For more information on their locations and services check out Marilyn Monroe Spas. Make sure to check out this specific location on facebook!
The Makeup Show Orlando 2014
I'm way late in getting this post out but better late than never!I always love when it's The Make Up Show time! It's always the motivation I need to keep pushing towards my dream. As a makeup artist we often times get into a funk and The Make Up show is the perfect way to get out of it! Back in November I got the opportunity to work along side AJ Crimson at the Frends booth. I couldn't believe it was happening for me because I remember the first time I met AJ at the first Makeup Show Orlando where he debuted his new cream foundations. I also was the very first person to buy it! And here I am 3 years later working next to him! Such an honor and a blessing! His foundations are truly amazing because he is an actual working artist so he knows first hands what makeup artists look for in a product. Also I love how hands on he is with the product development. One thing I learned working next to him that is if you want something, don't stop until you get it. It doesn't matter how big or small "it" is. I didn't need too many things for my kit see what i got below: Unfortunately The Makeup Show wont be back in Orlando until 2016. Looks like I will have to venture out to one of the other locations!
November 2014 Blogger Meetup
This month's blogger meet up was host by the lovely Bianca of ElleBStyles.com at Sugar Divas Cakery. Let me just say how fun and cutely decorated this place is! It just screams creativity! The owner Clare started off by giving us a brief bio on how her business came into existence. Clare had been decorating since the age of 13 and started private classes at 15. She had moved to Orlando Florida from England to work for Disney and was just laid off last year. While working at Disney she was still yearning to get back into decorating. Once she got laid off her friends and family encouraged her to finally start a cake decorating business. In January of this year Sugar Divas Cakery is here! They can create virtually anything you desire out of cake! After Clare demonstrated how to decorate with the icing we were on our own to create a master piece. The 2 choices of cupcake were Champagne Strawberry and Ameretto Paspberry. I chose Champagne Strawberry! Let me just say……it's so much harder than it looks! I think I'll stick to makeup lol But actually trying to do it made me really have an appreciation for those that are blessed with that talent!Sugar Divas Cakery offers cake decorating parties that are 3 hours long and in the end you get your own individual cake! I had so much fun and thank you for Sugar Divas Cakery for hosting us and thank you to Bianca for putting it together! For more information make sure you check out the Sugar Divas Cakery website!
Owner of Sassy Secret: Tate Arnonee
One of my favorite things to do is to learn about women entrepreneurs who are making their mark. Meet Tate Arnonee. A descendant of Zimbabwe she decided to leave her country to pursue the American dream. She attended the University of Missouri and upon her graduation was a financial advisor for JP Morgan Chase for 4 years. Tate ended up finding her true passion in the hair industry and she started Sassy Secret which is an online shop for lace wigs and hair extensions. She originally started out making lace units and selling them on ebay and now has turned it to a legitimate and prosperous business. Sassy Secret hair has been featured in several publications such as Hype Hair, Teen Vogue and has been seen on a-list celebrities such as Kelly Rowland and Joy Bryant. One of the things I find most impressive about her company Sassy Secret, is that not only has she sold 5 million dollars worth of hair directly to consumers, but her company operates debt free and owns its facility and operations! Check out Sassy Secret for products and pricing.
Premiere Orlando
If you’re unfamiliar with Premiere Orlando, it’s like the largest beauty show in the US. It houses the best in hair, nails, dayspa and esthetics. So yeah, its kind of a big deal. There isn’t too much there for makeup artists, but that’s what The Makeup Show is for. Anyway I just wanted to show some of the stuff I bought while there! I got some makeup brushes from Morphe Brushes and also some lip wands. This brush line has definitely been generating some buzz on social media so I want to see what al the hype is about. The price point is awesome so what do you have to lose! I just HAD to restock on my Embroylisse lait crème moisturizer for my kit. While there they told me about the Hydra Mat cream which is a moisturizer/primer for oily skin. Can I just tell you that its AMAZE-BALLS!! I am going to do a separate post about it. Lastly I bought Sunny Isle bronzing cream by Pinnacle Cosmetics. It’s a private label cosmetic line based out of Toronto. Summer is here and its all about that golden goddess glow! So that’s it! If you attended premiere what did you buy?

Keeping your edges moisturized underneath your wig will protect it from breakage as well. What are some recommendations on how to keep hair from itching underneath the weave/wigs?Be sure to shampoo and condition your natural hair thoroughly before applying your wig/weave. Do this bi-weekly to keep your natural hair and scalp clean. To avoid bacteria from forming on the scalp and causing itching and irritation you can simply apply a small amount of Tea Tree oil mixed with a coconut oil to keep your scalp fresh and protected while wearing wigs and weaves. Never neglect your natural hair and scalp while wearing protective styles. Huge thank you to Annette Jones for taking time out to answer my hair questions! I love chatting with women entrepreneurs! Its A Wig Simply Lace Patricia Review
As a natural haired girl winter can be great for a frizz free hairstyle, however the cold weather is horrible for keeping hair moisturized. Protective hairstyling is your best friend to keep it from drying out. A wig is a great way to protect your hair from these cold elements. I mean, any weather under 75 degrees is cold in my book and anything under 70 is practically snowing for Floridians! If you want to know more about It’s a Wig check out my first post here. Here are some pics of me wearing the Simply Lace Patricia in color DX3147. I never thought I would see the day where I would wear a lace front but this one is awesome. It has two hair clips in the front and the lace and a clip in the back as well as an adjustable strap. It is also iron friendly for up to 350-400F but I haven’t had to test it. Can I just say how fabulous this hair is? So many people thought it was my actual hair that I dyed blonde. The actual curl pattern of the hair is almost identical to my own curl pattern. Wigs are the best way to try different colors and hairstyles without the commitment. The best part is that the older it gets the bigger it gets and of course I love big hair so I was finger combing the curls out to get volume. I really really love the color and once upon a time my hair was actually dyed this identical color. However, when you dye your hair blonde it is a lot of maintenance especially for natural hair. So now I can get the blonde awesomeness without the maintenance!

Wet N Wild Petal Pusher Review
Wet N Wild is one of my fave drug store companies. The pigmentation and the price point is absolutely insane! I wanted to share a look I did awhile back with their color icon palette in Petal Pusher. Purple is one of my favorite colors to not only use on my eyes, but my clients as well. It’s one of those colors that compliments all skin tones. Whenever I wear purple eyeshadow it really brings out the green in my eyes. The palette comes with 8 colors and its only $5! Many of the colors are dupes for MAC eyeshadows as well. My only complaint is that I wish some of the colors were matte. So if you are on a budget but still want to be fly you should definitely check it out. I also own Comfort Zone, which has more earthtones and Blue Had Me at Hello which has blue colors. Let me know by commenting below if you want me to post a look using those palettes!*Purchased with my own money. This is my honest review.
Current Natural Hair Products
I get asked what I use in my hair a lot. The truth is for the most part I don’t always use the same things. I’m always switching it up. So this post is about what my flavor of the current moment is. After getting my hair cut and dyed (I haven’t had a trim in about a year, shame on me), the stylist used some products that left my hair feeling really soft and looking very healthy. I had to know what she used so that I could go purchase it myself. For shampoo and conditioning she used Joico Color Endurance which is to help me maintain my hair color and it doesn’t hurt that it is also sulfate free. For styling my hair I like to use serums because they are lightweight. I’m using the Silky Smooth Moisture Serum by the S Factor which she also recommended. For 2nd and 3rd day hair I use the Curl Enhancing Smoothie by Shea Moisture to maintain moisture. I’m also going to start deep conditioning my hair once a month(I used to but I fell off) and decided to stick with the Joico brand since my hair seems to like it. I chose the Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor which I have yet to try so I will have to get back to you on whether my hair likes it or not. I also bought a sturdy pick so for days when my hair is flat I can pump up the volume. I bought all these products at Cosmo Prof which you need a professional license or must be a beauty school student in order to purchase there. When I bought this stuff they gave me a sample of Sebastian Penetrait shampoo which I have yet to try. So that’s basically it! What are you loving for your hair?
JASS Products Review
JASS stands for "Just A Simple Solution". They were nice enough to send me their "Original Kit" for review. This kit has a total of 4 products which retails for $50. It contains Peppermint Clarifying Shampoo, Intense Moisture Treatment Conditioner, Shine spray, Fortifying Leave-in Treatment and Detangling Spray. My hair is natural and just like every natural girl there are two major problems: keeping in moisture and keeping it tangle free. So I'm always down to try different hair products. I've tried these products for about 2 weeks since I haven't been washing my hair too often with the cooler temperature change. So lets get the review started.Peppermint Clarifying Shampoo: This shampoo has tea tree in it which is supposed to be good for eliminating dandruff. I really love the way this smells and I like the minty scalp feeling. However, clarifying shampoos always make my hair super tangly and this shampoo was no exception. Since its job is to strip your hair of all the product build up it can make your hair feel pretty stripped. So this is something you only want to use to rid your hair of product build up. I wouldn’t recommend using this on the daily.Intense Moisture Treatment: I really like this deep conditioner. Especially after using the Peppermint shampoo this definitely adds the necessary moisture the hair needs. This conditioner actually helps me with detangling. Best part of this conditioner is that it contains ingredients such as jojoba oil, wheat protein, keratin and is free of parabens.Shining "Lite" Spray: Absolutely love the way this smells. Also this does add a nice sheen to your hair. Especially as I stated previously with natural hair it can tend to look/feel dry.Fortifying Leave-InTreatment Detangle Spray: I was the least impressed with this product as a detangler. I just feel like in general detangle sprays don’t really do anything that spraying good old H2o can’t do. All it does is make your hair moist so that you can comb through the tangles. Most of my detangling is done when I’m conditioning my hair so I can’t really say that this spray helped with the detangling. Now I will say I did use this to refresh my hair for a braid out and I liked it for that. I use coconut oil as my only styling product and sometimes it can be come very oily. Using the detangling spray before I braid my hair helps with controlling my oil. So as a leave in conditioner spray it does its job. After using these products my hair feels super lightweight and squeaky clean.
