I am always on a hunt for awesome skincare products. I mean who doesn't want flawless skin? After all my skin is my money maker in my industry. As a makeup artist we always preach that a great makeup application starts with the care of your skin. So let me introduce you to Jolie Bloom. All of their products are handmade with natural ingredients. I'm such a sucker for natural skin care products. There is something comforting in using products that have ingredients you can pronounce. They recently had their 2 year anniversary sale and this was the perfect time for me to give them a shot. Not to mention I had the opportunity to do the owner Jheanells' makeup for her rebranding website. If you follow her snapchat she always posts behind the scenes videos of her whipping up the products right here in Orlando to fulfill orders. Also you will see her husband placing labels and packing orders to ship with the assistance of their 3 year old son! I love knowing that when I make a purchase that I am directly supporting a family who makes each product with love! Now on to the products! The 2 products I picked up was the Wake up Scrub for exfoliation and their Summer Time Shine essential oil body lotion. I was a little bit concerned that the coffee smell would be too overbearing for me but it wasn't at all. After you use this product your skin feels amazingly smooth! You don't even need a moisturizer! Also, typically I don't like to use oils on my skin but if you do your research oils are very beneficial to your skin. The Summer Time Shine is a good balance of lotion and oil. I particularly use this as a moisturizer for my face and you really don't need a lot because a little bit goes a long way. Literally my skin drinks this stuff up. Also sometimes when I pour a too much out I just rub the rest all over my body. Also something special to know ahout this company is that Jheanell started this company 2 years ago in memory of her daughter. I think it is amazing that she was able to turn something very deastating into something positive. She has an amazing story and I'm sure there are many women that can relate. These products are amazing and if you are interested definitely check out the website for more at www.joliebloom.com and instagram @JolieBloom ***Products were purchased with my own money and opinions are all my own

New App in Orlando: Massage Clicks
I always have so much to do but seem to never have enough time. So anything that provides convenience in my life is a win. I was recently informed of a new app called Massage Clicks which I like to call it the Uber of massages. This app recently launched in Orlando and I think the concept is genius. Basically download this app and you can make an appointment to have a licensed massage therapist come to your home office or hotel. I got the opportunity to test out the app and also meet the founder Ian Vakil who formerly owned a wellness center. I got the opportunity to ask him a couple questions so here is the scoop:
- Atlanta is next on his radar to launch the app
- The app currently does not service Oveido and Sanford but will around the next 2 weeks
- Right now there is introductory pricing starting at $39 for a 1 hour massage until Oct. 15
- If you would like to request a specific massage therapist you can request them in the parking notes but it really depends on availability if you will be able to book them
- Pricing is based on the duration of the massage not based on the type of service which works out cheaper for users then going to a physical location
- The service times are 9am-10pm 7 days a week
- Pricing is from $79-$140
Also early next year yoga and facials will be offered on the app. I got to experience a swedish massage from Maribal which was amazing. I felt like a brand new woman! The app is super easy to use and I love that this service comes to you. For more information on the app check them out at www.massageclicks.com! *Complimentary massage service was provided for my review. These are my honest opinions
Blo Blow Dry Bar
On Thursday I got the opportunity to check out this new cutesy blow dry bar. These blow dry bars seem to be the hottest trend lately. If you are looking for just a wash and style this is a great place for a quick glam session. They offer manicures. My stylists name was Paula and I wasn't sure if she would be able to tame the beast on top of my head. But she proved me wrong! I thought my hair was great! Unfortunately it didn't last because when you have curly hair it doesn't like to be tamed! Story of my life...The brand of the products they use is called Unite. Something cool she told me is that all of the products are sulfate free except the clarifying shampoo. Let me just say that these products smell AMAZING! They also told me they have an app where you can make your appointments! Which I thought was so convenient! However I was informed that you are unable to reserve a specific stylist but they do try their best to accommodate your request. They also assured me that all the stylist go through the same styling training with the company. For additional information on the services and pricing they offer check them out here. * Complimentary services were provided for my review, these are my honest opinions.
Orlando Women's Success Seminar
On April 25 the very first Women's Success Seminar kicked off! Any event that is about promoting the empowerment of women I am all for. The featured speakers were Tia Maldanado, Melanie Pace, Angela Brown, Monica May, Jenn Lee and Dr Romue Mushtaq. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear the later 2 speak because I had to leave early. I have to be honest, the only speaker I was familiar with was Monica May since I actually have done her makeup once before a couple years ago.Check out the synopsis of what each speaker spoke about : The most interesting thing about the event is that it was put on by Pablo Villatorro! I thought it was so cool that a man put on an event to empower women! He spoke some beautiful words to his mother who was there to support the event. I know she must be so proud! This event was definitely empowering and I walked away with lasting advice that I will keep with me forever.
Park Avenue Fashion Show 2013
On Oct 19 the annual Park Avenue Fashion Show took place. I have always heard such awesome things about this show but never had the chance to attend. This year my best friend Carralyce from FitnFabMamas was debuting fashions from her new store "Red Carpet Couture" so I was attending to support her! This fashion show was so well put together I was highly impressed! Check out some pics from Red Carpet Couture which will be opening in November and is located at 180 Morse Blvd! She definitely has some statement pieces that fashionistas will love! Some of my other favorites from the show were ilash Works, Eyes & Optics, and Tuni.I loved how they found away to showcase their eyelash work but making it very interesting by putting it on shirtless men! What an awesome idea!Next I was not only loving the fabulous Eyewear from Eye & Optics but hello the swimwear was amazing! The designs were by Melissa Vivo who is awesome at what she does!Lastly I enjoyed the Hippie Chic thing the Tuni show had going. I especially loved the head pieces. They wanted to show fashion with a social message!
Hair, makeup and fashions were phenomenal! What an awesome show! I can't wait for next year! Photo credit goes to Steven Graffham unless noted otherwise.
The Makeup Show Orlando 2013
Ok so this post is super late but better late than never right? On Sept 28 and 29 The Makeup Show Orlando took place for the second year. Check out my experience from last year here. I was extra excited for this year because I just knew it was going to be bigger and better. Last year hurricane Sandy prevented a lot of vendors from being able to come. This year I was only able to attend on the last day due to work, which I quickly found out was not enough time for me to fully enjoy the show. There were way more vendors and way more patrons. I didn't get a chance to check out any seminars and I didn't take many pictures. I was super focused on buying specific things for my kit. The #1 thing on my list to buy was a Zuca backpack and they weren't even there! That was my only huge disappointment with the show. The #2 thing on my list was the AJ Crimson CCC palette which I was able to get thanks to my girl Lerenda who made sure I got it. I really wanted to focus on things I really needed for my kit. Overall it was awesome to see the growth from just 1 year and I know next year it will be even bigger.
Here are a couple pics from the opening event:

Central FL Lady Bloggers July Meet Up
Last Wednesday I got the opportunity to attend the Central Florida Lady Bloggers July Meet up. This is was my first meet up for this group and I was excited and a little nervous at the same time. The meet up took place at Barnies Coffee Kitchen in Winter Park. Since I have only been in Orlando for 1 year and I don't go out much I was really excited to find out about a new place. Upon entering I was greeted with their Ginger Ruby Red beverage which is AMAZING. This drink was one of my favorites of the night and it contains sparkling cava, ginger ice and ruby red grapefruit juice which every sip has a different flavor. This really set the tone and I knew I was in for a treat!Barnies even made custom menus for the event! There was a diverse group of bloggers from fitness, beauty, fashion to home decor! It was amazing interacting with everyone while enjoying some yummy food and drinks! We were fortunate enough to have the President of Barnies CoffeeKitchen Jonathan Smiga speak to us. I had no idea that Barnie's was headquartered right here in Orlando! He also talked about how they try to utilize local sources which I thought was commendable.I'm going to have to apologize in advance...I was so busy eating and drinking that I forgot to take pictures of it all.
I had such a great time. The food was awesome and now I have a new place to socialize and meet people. Barnies serves brunch on Sunday and I am definitely going to check it out because brunch is one of my favorite things to eat! Thank you so much Barnies CoffeeKitchen for taking such great care of us!"Like" Barnies on Facebook
The Makeup Show Orlando Recap
I can't even describe the excitement that The Makeup Show had finally arrived! I know this post is a little late but man the motivation and inspiration I received has me going full speed! So unfortunately I did not get to experience much of the first day because I was scheduled to work, but I couldn't miss the first day! I was only able to stay about 2 hours before I had to leave. I have to admit I was bummed that some major companies (OCC, Mehron, Kevyn Aucoin) were unable to make it due to Hurricane Sandy (I hate her) but it was probably a good thing for my pockets, lol! On the second day attended with my friends/makeup artists. We were like kids in a candy store! I was having major technical difficulties and my phone dies and I had no charger and my stupid digital camera died too (I need a new one, any suggestions)! Luckily fellow blogger Phyrra was a lifesaver (THANK YOU GIRL!) and snapped a couple pics for me but needless to say.....check out her blog for even more pics!
Welp, that's all folks! It was difficult to not go spending crazy! I'm glad I was able to get the 3 things I have been wanting, which is the flash palette by Makeup Forever, brush canister holder by Makeup Forever, and the Cufflette by Koren of EnKore makeup! I'm already looking forward to next year as I am sure it will be even better!
Tips for The Makeup Show
I've never been to The Makeup Show before but I have been to other trade shows. Since this show is coming to Orlando for the first time I figured I would give some helpful tips on how to be prepared!#1 HAVE A BUDGET! - Hello if you love makeup you could run the risk of spending ALLLL of your money on all the cool makeup toys that will be there. Think about what you need and will get the most use of. You don't want to dish out money for things that are just going to collect dust (I'm speaking from personal experience..lol). If you have a budget it can help you from spending your rent money! Check the website and see if your favorite vendors are showcasing and map out the order of which booths you want to hit up first.#2 HAVE A GAME PLAN!- There are a lot of classes and work shops to take to take your artistry to the next level. Make sure you check out the site before hand that way you can ensure that you take all the classes you are interested in. No one wants to miss an opportunity of being educated from celebrity artists currently working in the industry!#3 BRING A FRIEND!- This is an awesome opportunity and event, share the love with a friend! My New Hair Do
Salon Day Dreams is doing something really cool called Freestyle Monday on July 2. They are looking for a couple men and women that would be willing to let them recreate some hair looks. This is so YOU the customer can get a free service and they are able to express their hair creativity. I wanted to participate and since I wasn't sure if I was going to have the day off I was the first one to give this a whirl! So basically I sat in the chair and let them have their way with my hair! Check out my pics:
Before aaaaah!! No makeup this day just rockin revlon lip butter in gum drop.
Chopped so much of my hair off it looked like a shaved animal! lol
here it is! The left side was cut in short layers and my hair was dyed two tones of red.
Back shot! Check out those layers!
Ta-da!
I have bangs now! Also you can see my right side was cut in longer wispy layers.
I have been a blondie for so long I was happy to get rid of it. I've never been red before so this was a nice change. I love it! I can't wait to play with my hair some more and see what styles I'm able to do.Check out Salon Day Dreams they are in the heart of downtown at 536 W. Church St Orlando, FL 32805 next to the Amway center. For their freestyle monday on July 2 Each of the 5 stylists will be posting a picture of hair inspiration they want to create on someone to their facebook fan page. So if you wouldn't mind having your hair like that for FREE make sure you contact them salon.daydreams@gmail.com or call 407-902-6488. This is the perfect time to get a new look!
Lastly I just had to take a picture of their dryers! I think they are so cool! It reminds me of the Jetsons or something!
So what do you think about my new do? Do you like it?
*My hair service was provided to me for free as apart of their freestyle promotion. This is my honest opinion and review.
