Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color Review

So I went to Walgreens to get something and of course I just HAD to go to the cosmetics section.  This hot pink lipgloss called "Click on my HyperPink" from Wet N Wild caught my eye so I took that baby home with me. Here is what Wet N Wild had to say about this product:

"Intense liquid color with built-in moisturizer provides one-step application for weightless, ultra-conditioning wear that lasts up to 8 hours. ElastiSilk™ formula combines flexible color adhesion with silky-smooth pigments for transfer-proof, even application. Paraben-free formula conditions and moisturizes with vitamin E that helps promote anti-aging, protects the skin's moisture barrier, and balances the lip's natural hydration for a healthy-looking, plump pout all day."

It had a flat double sided doe foot applicator which I don't mind. So when I first applied it I thought this was a lipgloss....but no maam! This is more of a lip cream that dries really, really, really MATTE! Wet n Wild claims that the product is moisturizing but I have to disagree. As the gloss dries it really feels like it is sucking the moisture out of your lips. Also it is VERY sticky! Especially after you eat your lips look really crazy. But these babies are SUPER pigmented which I love!I have been trying out different ways to make wearing this product more comfortable and so far putting Maybelline's Baby Lips balm on first before applying the lip cream  seems to act like a barrier and doesn't make it feel as drying. It also helped with the removal of the product as well.  When I put this product on my lips with no type of lip balm this sucker was very difficult to remove off of my lips. Since the balm makes it more moisturizing it made it easier when I wanted to remove it.I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I don't.  Will I still wear it? Yes because I love this neon pink color! It's just something I would only wear for a short period of time and not all day. Would I repurchase? Probably not until the formulation changes. I'm hoping Wet N Wild will see all of the reviews and change the formulation of the product.  It is $3 and had $1 off coupon at Walgreens so we can't complain too much.  Have you tried this before?  What did you think?I purchased mine at walgreens and you can also get it on their website www.wnwbeauty.com

CoverGirl Stay Fabulous Foundation Review

Wow so this is my first post of the year! Shame on me! lol Anyway lets get right into to it.I havent worn CoverGirl makeup since probably high school.  However I recently saw a couple reviews on CoverGirls new foundation, CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation (what a long foundation name!).

I had to try this foundation because I read so many awesome things.  The color I picked up was in Golden Tan and I put this baby to the test yesterday.

This is my freshly washed face with no eyebrows :(

I threw my eyebrows on and applied the foundation only to one side of my face (my right side) and this pic is with flash.

This is a pic without flash, as you can see its a little darker than my skin tone.This is the foundation applied all over using a beauty blender sponge.

I finished the rest of my makeup and even used the foundation as concealer (pic with flash) it has really great coverage.

Here is a pic of the foundation at the end of the night.  I had the foundation on from 12pm-10pm. I never set the foundation with any powder because I wanted to see the lasting power.  As you can see I am a little bit oily but its not unbearable.

My first impression when I put it on was that I loved it.  Then later on when it was setting and I looked in the mirror I was scared because the color changed and I thought I was so orangey and looked like an oompa loompa so I tried to blend it down to my neck because I was in a rush and didn't have time to take it off. However once it really set the color was fine.

I purchased this foundation at Target for about $10.  The color selection is (14 shades) however, for women of color the Queen Collection has the same foundation called CoverGirl Queen All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation  with an additional 14 shades which means the color range is brown girl friendly as well, which is usually an issue with drug store brands.

I have to say, drug store foundations are not usually my forte but this one may change my mind.  What do you think about it? Will you give it a shot?

Tips for The Makeup Show

I've never been to The Makeup Show before but I have been to other trade shows.  Since this show is coming to Orlando for the first time I figured I would give some helpful tips on how to be prepared!#1 HAVE A BUDGET! - Hello if you love makeup you could run the risk of spending ALLLL of your money on all the cool makeup toys that will be there. Think about what you need and will get the most use of.  You don't want to dish out money for things that are just going to collect dust (I'm speaking from personal experience..lol). If you have a budget it can help you from spending your rent money! Oldie but Goodie: My Collab with Fashion Parkway

Ok so this post is waaaaaaay overdue.  I just realized I never did a blog post about working with Fashion Parkway for the first time (in January)!  This was also my first time doing makeup for a mini fashion film! LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Trial & Travel Pack Review

LA Fresh was one of the sponsors for our meetup this month (post coming soon).  I'm loving the concept they have going on here. This company is eco friendly with their main focus on the preservation of water.  They sent us a travel pack which had a couple different products for us to try which was awesome. So far I have only tried one one of them which you can tell by the pics (lol). The travel pack contained:1 Waterproof Makeup Remover Wipe1 Oil-Free Face Cleanser Wipe (Naturally Fragranced)1  Oil-Free Face Cleanser Wipe (Fragrance-Free)1 Instant Body Soother Wipe3 Healthy Hand Sanitizer Wipes1 Acetone-Free Nail Polisher Remover PadSo as you can see it was a nice lil mix of stuff perfect for traveling.  I went on their website and they have all sorts of  fun stuff! Even wipes for your dogs mouth! lol  Ok back to my thoughts...So I tried the waterproof makeup remover and it was LOVE at first use. It removed all my makeup without me having to rigorously scrub my face.  The cloth was really soft and durable at the same time.  However I did feel like my face was oily at first when I used it but it quickly dissolved in my skin making it feel so nice and soft!  My instant reaction was that these are the best makeup remover wipes I've used! I also love that they come in these packets because they are super convenient to tote around.  This is beneficial for my makeup kit when I'm on gigs.  These packets are better than carrying a big pack of makeup remover wipes and I dont have to worry about the wipes drying out since they are individually packaged. What I didn't enjoy too much was the smell, it was that earthy smell but it has natural ingredients so its not a deal breaker for me.  The waterproof makeup wipe contains ingredients such as olive oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil to name a few and the wipes are biodegradable! MY Beauty Picks from the Smirnoff Master of the Mix Orlando

Last  week (Dec 17) I attended the Master of the Mix Viewing Party in Orlando sponsored by Smirnoff Vodka. I must say the event was AMAZING! Great people (so fashionable), great drinks (my fave was called "The Mixer") and not to mention great MUSIC!  The DJs that kept the crowd hyped were DJ Yonny (Master of The Mix Season Two Contestant, DJ at 92.3 NOW, New York City), Orlando's own Michael "M-Squared" McPherson  (Master of The Mix Season Two Contestant, Red bull Thre3style Global Finalist) and last but not least the infamous Kid Capri! Did I mention I had a blast? I was chosen as one of the bloggers to cover the event. I was scoping out the scene to pick 2 people who were my winners for makeup and hair. Check out my winners below:

MAC Metal-X Cream Eyeshadows

MAC is re-releasing their Metal-X Cream Eyeshadows which I believe was originally released in 2007.  Now back in 2007 I was just a lover of makeup but I wasn't into the artistry part quite yet.  So as the average consumer I wanted these eyeshadows because I thought they were pretty!  These eyeshadows I remember were VERY creamy so therefore would cause a lot of creasing.  So I remember parking them and never really using them again because of that.  I personally think these have a better use for editorial looks such as cheeks, lips etc.  If you look at their ad the focus is really using it anywhere on the face.  The collection will have 9 shades total and is set to release Dec 26.

Now that this is being re-released it made me go and dig in my makeup collection to see if I still had the original ones.  Guess what? I did! The colors I have are a silver called Cyber and a Gold called Goldspice.  My Goldspice was more dried up then Cyber which I found interesting.  Anyway check out my pics and swatches of the colors.

Hair: Twist out & FOTD(Face of the day)

I've been natural 4 years now and I have to say its been one crazy roller coaster but I definitely don't regret it. I've tried a bajillion products on the market but now I'm not so fussy about what goes in my hair. I've also attempted to do braid outs and twist outs in the past and has been a total fail! However my curls have been really boring me because I feel like I can't do anything besides well...wearing it curly. I really started thinking about when I was a little girl and when my mom would do my hair. It's the same concept except we aren't putting those colorful bubbled hair bows in our hair. She would wash it, section and detangle, and add hair grease. And my hair was moisturized and healthy. So I decided to give twist out another try and I must say...I'm in LOVE! I realized when I do my twist outs I need to do them in larger sections. I did a twist out using Blue Magic's Coconut Oil conditioner while detangling with my denman brush. The great thing about the twist out is that it stretches out my curls which I love. I also feel like my hair is more versatile to do some cool styles. Not to mention this is a great way to get me through the winter because my hairstyle will last me longer so I won't have to wash as often. It also is great to help in maintaining moisture in your hair which as you know as a natural moisture retention is difficult. I also slicked back the side of my hair thats growing in from me shaving it with Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste by Curls (review coming soon).

Clinique's Dramatically Different Mosturizer Lotion Review

So while shopping in Sephora months ago I decided to try out this moisturizer because it was being advertised as one of Sephora's favorites. I actually used to use Clinique's 3 step skincare system back in my high school days so I was like why not get back into Clinique. If you watched my October Faves video I briefly mentioned it as apart of my skin care regime. I have dry patches of dryness and can get oily in my T zone area.  I feel like this product does not moisturize my face the way I would like.  For my dry patches I feel like I have to put more then I want to just to get it moisturized.  For $24.50 I feel like it should work a lot better than it does.  I'm sorry Clinique but my face did not feel dramatically different. However if you have oily skin I think this product may be a for you because of the weightless feel of it. Yes, even if you have oily skin you still need to use moisturizer because it helps balance the oils in your body. Basically if you have dry skin I do not recommend this product but if you have oily skin I think you might like this.  Have you tried this before?  What did you think about it?
